Helping Out is the second main quest in Act 1. It is given by Captain John Bourbon after completing the Waking to Misery quest.

Background[edit | edit source]

Since the Taken has killed the Reanimator who was behind the walking dead attacking Devil's Crossing, the attacks have become less frequent and more severe. This allows Captain Bourbon to start planning the next major move, but in the meantime, while his scouts haven't fully reported yet, he expects the protagonist to help out other survivors. Kasparov, the local scientist, wished to speak to the player character about their connection to the Aetherials, while Barnabas, the handyman, needs help with fixing the water pump.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

  • Help Barnabas with the Water Pump
  • Help Kasparov with his research
  • Meet Bourbon inside the Prison

Guide[edit | edit source]

Kasparov can be found in the house next to the riftgate in Devil's Crossing. Barnabas can be found just outside the prison walls by the windmill, to the south.

Talk to Barnabas to receive the And Not a Drop to Drink side quest.

Talk to Kasparov to receive the Kasparov's Experiment side quest.

After completing the two side quests return to Captain Bourbon for the reward.

Bourbon has asked you to help out Kasparov and Barnabas while he waits for his scouts to return. Kasparov does his research near the Riftgate in Devil's Crossing. Barnabas can be found just outside the prison walls by the windmill, on the south side.

Objectives:

  • Help Barnabas with the Water Pump
  • Help Kasparov with his research
Now that you have helped Kasparov and Barnabas, you should report back to Bourbon in Devil's Crossing. He should be awaiting your return inside the prison, in his office.
